the long awaited solo album from chester p.
Anyone who is anyone in UK Hip Hop has heard of Chester P as a member of both
Taskforce and MUD fam heÆs an experienced battle rapper with a quick fire flow and
excellent freestyle skills, IÆm not going to dwell too much on the background to this
album but I will mention that about 12 months ago Louis Slipperz studio burnt down
and fears were that the tracks had been lost - but luck would have it that the music
survived the fire, smoke and firemans hose to be released on Rawdog.
The first track on the album is ôChessmonsterö - IÆm sure you may have heard this
guitar tinged - conscious track - flipping some great multiÆs with style and flare.
Another standout track is the recent single æOh No (He Loves A Ho)Æ a tale from the
lighter & jokier side of Chester PÆs personality bringing his usual rapid, skillful
flow over Louis SlipperzÆs minimalistic-reggae style production. Chester tells a
twisted story of falling in love with a working girl but its ok coz she loves his
dough. Farma G is also on-hand with his own grimey story to tell over this great
Louis Slipperz beat.
The bouncy banjo on ôFaithö shows off another great piece of Louis Slipperz
production whilst Chester, Farma and Ramson Badbones tear it up with their true to
life tales on a solid solo debut album - however for me IÆd have liked to have seen a
few more collaborations with other UK heavyweights to spice things up a little.

Songwriter/performer Samantha James has spent the past three years
honing her estimable skills as a modern-day singer/songwriter
within the dance/electronic/soul genre. Her sultry style, vocal
cadences, and international rhythms are largely influenced by such
artists as Sade, Basia, Amel Larrieux, Bebel Gilberto and
Morcheeba.
On her debut album "Rise" for San Francisco based indie label Om
Records, Samantha teamed up with producer and co-writer Sebastian

A native of Los Angeles' Topanga Canyon where she currently
resides, James is the grand daughter of Emmy Award-winning
composer/conductor David Rose. James' lyrics resonate with the
pain of lost relationships and joy of loving connections.
