Uno de los discos imprescindibles en la historia del rock. Los primeros compases de su éxito mas popular, Light My Fire quedaría siempre asociado (y múltiples veces copiado) al estilo inconfundible de los Doors. Contiene grandes canciones como "Break On Through" así como alucinantes y ácidas baladas: "The End" en la que se encuentra su famoso verso edípico "Father I wanna kill you, mather I wanna fuck you". También encontramos aquí una de las canciones preferidas de Morrison para cantar en directo, Back Door Man.

Los Doors se ven obligados a lanzar otro álbum, más comercial, que denota una falta de experimentación, con canciones que no incluyeron en el anterior trabajo. Aunque el sello personal de Morrison sigue patente en "Horse Latitudes", un poema que escribió con trece años influenciado por la imagen de un barco español del siglo XVII tirando caballos por la borda para librarse de peso por la falta de viento que vio en un libro. Los sonidos fueron hechos por todo el equipo de grabación con diferentes instrumentos. Aquí se encuentra la famosa "When The Music’s Over" y la romántica "Moonlight Drive", que Morrison cantó a Manzarek en la playa de Venice y con la que pensaron montar el grupo. En esta balada termina ahogando a su querida "baby gonna drown tonight".

Este es tal vez, el disco más duro. Las cosas estaban cambiando y la poesía reivindicativa, cuyo exponente es "The Unknown Soldier", también se representa a través del grito de guerra de "Five to One", tema escogido por Morrison para comenzar los conciertos debido a su introducción, un grito desesperado. Tuvieron gran éxito con "Hello I Love You" (dedicado a su novia Pamela Courson) y, como anécdota, "Spanish Caravan", donde hay un solo de guitarra inspirado en el concierto de Aranjuez. En "My Wild Love" se reproduce un poema de Morrison con acordes del resto del grupo realizados con pisotones y palmadas. Un Morrison, totalmente embriagado, rara vez podía grabar dos tomas iguales sin poner diferentes letras a cada canción.

Este álbum paso desapercibido, aun pudiendo ser el mas significativos del grupo. Morrison no existía como persona aunque si como poeta, como podemos ver en la canción que le da nombre al disco. En esta se encuentra un poema en contra de la religión impuesta "you cannot petittion the Lord with prayer" asi como un poema mítico "We can whip the horse`s eyes...." Según dice la leyenda, Morrison estaba tan colocado que grabo esta canción mientras su novia Pamela Courson le hacia un fellatio.

El soul invade a Los Doors el primer tema "Roadhouse Blues" es el mas versionando del grupo, Morrison cambio su voz así como su entonación, muy buena música pero peor letra como demuestra "Indian Summer" o "Blue Sunday" canciones con escasas letras. En "Peace Frog" encontramos el poema en el que Morrison explica la invasión de su alma por un indio moribundo, hecho que marco su vida. También encontramos una balada romántica como pocas se han escrito en "The Spy"

Ultimo disco de estudio, donde un Morrison desconocido canta blues puro y duro, con letras incomprensibles que te llevan al éxtasis guiado por Mr. Mojo Risin en canciones históricas como "L.A. Woman" o "Riders On The Storm" dedicada, de nuevo, al alma india que invadió el espíritu de un joven Morrison ("Ghosts crowd the young child`s fragile eggshell mind"). Es un álbum en el que predomina la lírica poética ("Texas Radio" , "L`America") además de una magnifica música propia de los setenta. Nunca se cantó en directo ya que Morrison murió pasados tres meses.
